Wake Downtown
New Engineering & Biomedical Sciences programs from Wake Forest University in downtown #WSNC, est. 2
Today we welcomed our 4th annual cohort of LEAP interns. We are so excited to have this amazing group of students from six local partner Title IX high schools joining us for six week science research internships in labs around campus including biochemistry & molecular biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, mathematics, biology, and health & exercise science.
Thank you to all the mentors around campus hosting LEAP interns in their labs! We are looking forward to an amazing summer with this group!

Last week, WFU undergraduate students from MAPS and Wake Downtown’s STEM Outreach Corps teamed up to lead STEM Nights for elementary and middle schoolers at The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Thank you so much to both of these outstanding community partners for having us and to all the volunteers who helped run the STEM activity stations centered around engineering, computer science, medicine, chemistry, biology, and physics. Also, huge shoutout to @wfubiology for partnering with MAPS to create Geek Kits full of science supplies so that the kids in attendance could continue exploring their STEM interests at home.
